What an incredible evening! The 12th Annual Auburn-Opelika Empty Bowls event last week was a huge success—and a beautiful reminder of the power of community.

Thanks to the amazing support from YOU—our neighbors, friends, artists, and sponsors—we sold 498 bowls and raised over $14,644 for the Food Bank of East Alabama.  Every dollar will go toward helping families in our community facing food insecurity.

The night was filled with live music, delicious food, a fun silent auction, and the kind of camaraderie that makes Auburn-Opelika feel like home.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to the talented artists from the Auburn and Opelika ceramics communities who crafted beautiful, one-of-a-kind bowls all year long for this event. And to the many sponsors and restaurants who donated food—your support made all the difference! And the many volunteers who made the event run smoothly. And a huge thank you to Emillie Dombrowski and her team at the Jan Dempsey Art Center who put everything together.

Here’s to making a difference, one bowl at a time.

We provide food for Alabama children, families and seniors to lead full and active lives, strengthening the communities where they live.

High Rates of FoodInsecurity Call for Much Needed Community Support

Every second Saturday in May, letter carriers across America collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers for the largest one-day food drive in the nation.

To donate, just place a box or can of non-perishable food next to your mailbox before your letter carrier delivers mail on the second Saturday in May. The carrier will do the rest. The food is sorted, and delivered to an area food bank or pantry, where it is available for needy families.
